Long before homeschooling was ever on my radar, it was important to me for books to be a central part of our home. I have such wonderful memories of my own mama reading to me when I was little, and I wanted the same for my children.
But books are expensive!
Despite our limited budget, we’ve been able to build a nice children’s library by buying books on sale at various places.

In the past, we’ve bought books on clearance at Barnes & Noble with great success. Now that I’m an Usborne consultant, we can buy books at a discounted rate and there’s also the monthly specials (LOVE these!) and weekly internet specials.
Another way we’ve built a wonderful library is buying children’s books on sale through Amazon Prime.
I will readily admit that I am an avid Amazon shopper. Now, I’m not much of a shopper in general (it tends to make me discontent, so I steer clear), but Amazon Prime and I are BFFs.
While Amazon Prime is a yearly cost up-front, we more than get our money’s worth here at the Hill House.
The many, many reasons we use and love Amazon Prime is a post for another day, however. 🙂
Since I frequently browse through the sale books at Amazon, I thought it would be a shame not to share them with all of you!
