In our homeschool, there always seems to be a steady stream of vocabulary words that my children and I are learning.
Whether the vocabulary words are in our Tapestry of Grace work, a unit study, or in our book study of the week, there’s a constant list of vocabulary words we’re wading through.
How We Use this Vocabulary Word List Printable
We are using this word list with our history studies this semester. I take the vocabulary list from our particular week in Tapestry of Grace and give a copy to my children.
Using their best handwriting, they copy their vocabulary words onto the list.
Next, they put a check in the box next to the words they already know. If they do not know the meaning of the word, they put an ‘x’ in the box.
Lastly, they look up each unknown word in the dictionary. My daughter often chooses to write a simple sentence using the word correctly in context.
My son often chooses to complete one of these unique definition worksheets. You can watch a video on how we use these definition worksheets in our homeschool!
This vocabulary word list is completely versatile!
Choose words from any science or history unit study. Pull words from the book you’re using for your literature based unit study this week. You could even use math terms, musical terms, or words from your child’s foreign language studies.
The possibilities are endless!
