I’m so glad you all love the Writing Booklets with Picture Dictionaries. They are a frequent request in my inbox! Since Presidents’ Day is right around the corner, I thought an Abraham Lincoln version was in order.
Despite our homeschool having a heavy U.S. History foundation, I realize that I have very few U.S. History resources here at Mama’s Learning Corner. I am making it a priority to increase those offerings in the coming months!

Abraham Lincoln Writing Booklet with Picture Dictionary
If you’re like me and have several children, it becomes necessary to combine learning activities and ages and stages whenever possible. This is more easily done in the elementary years, I have found.
These booklets are a great way to combine a writing activity for young learners. Provide as much or as little writing support as needed for your little people.
In this particular set, I decreased the drawing area in the booklet and added another row of writing lines. I hope that will be a beneficial change for your young writers!
If you’re learning about Abraham Lincoln in your homeschool, you can read a couple of your chosen books throughout the week. Each day, your child can choose at least one picture from the dictionary, find the appropriate page in the writing booklet, and write 1-3 sentences about the picture.
If you use narration in your homeschool, this is a great way to practice that with mom as the scribe.
This writing activity is also perfect for practicing sentence construction, capitalization, punctuation, descriptive words, parts of speech, and much more!
I have also included a variety of ways to use these writing booklets in your home or classroom with an assortment of ages!
If you have advanced 2nd or 3rd graders that are ready to learn parts of speech, you can download this very gentle Parts of Speech recitation. It is quite easy to incorporate in your learning time each day!
