My little people and I are fairly crafty and enjoy making craft projects a routine part of our homeschool. Our history curriculum encourages a hands-on project each week and I frequently have crafts set up for my little girls during school time. Needless to say, craftiness and projects are pretty frequent around the Hill House.
So you can imagine my children’s delight when they opened this box:
It’s an entire box devoted to creative projects and activities! My 5-year-old literally jumped for joy, as she is my craftiest soul.

A Quick Glimpse at the BabbaBox
If you’re unfamiliar with BabbaCo, it is a monthly subscription box geared for children ages 3-6. The boxes contain everything from books to crafts supplies & ideas to digital downloads to even a little something special for mom.
A BabbaBox comes once per month and are theme-based, containing everything you could possibly need to complete the activities and projects. And they really do contain everything – even the paintbrush and paintbrush cup we needed to work on one of our activities was included. Now that’s attention to detail!
Our BabbaBox: Give Thanks
The theme of our BabbaBox was ‘Gratitude.’ As we pulled each of the items from our Gratitude box, we discussed what gratitude is and what it looks like to others around us. Since all of the activities in our box centered around giving, we had a wonderful time choosing who the recipients of our projects would be.
My oldest daughter chose to work on this ‘Thanks’ handprint serving tray. Even though she is not yet a reader, the instructions included allowed her to paint the word ‘thanks’ in a unique way. She was so thrilled with her results! She chose to give her tray to her daddy for his work office.
My son and older daughters chose to create “Give Thanks” cards for several people. When I opened the individual card packet, I will admit that I assumed it was only going to be a few blank cards and maybe some stickers or markers. I was completely surprised at the assortment of items in the package!
The project included material to write thank you notes – animal-shaped cut cards, markers, stickers, and even wiggly eyes were included! Also included were 2 ‘Give Thanks’ banners for them to decorate and give to a favorite person.
Still in progress is our “Gratitude Journal.” My son and oldest daughter are still taking a few pictures with our included disposable camera. Later this week, we’ll have the film developed and then place the pictures in our Gratitude Journal. Walking around our yard, snapping pictures of nature is a wonderful way to help children think outside of the materialism box. It’s so easy to go outside and never “see” God’s handiwork, but taking pictures of nature is a way to keep it at the forefront of our minds.
A tree kit was a favorite mini-project in this set. My daughter glued the tree card together as everyone told of people/things of which they were thankful. I wrote their items on the leaves and my son glued them on. What a perfect chance to pause in our busy day and give thanks for what is most important. There were so many opportunities for just this type of thinking and reflection in this particular BabbaBox.
A last favorite project was the “Cookie Doodle” app, which was a free download for our iPad. My 3 and 5 year old girls loved it! They were able to choose their favorite cookie dough, roll it out with a rolling pin, cut out shapes, and then decorate cookies. So fun!
Mama’s Favorite BabbaCo Project
What was my favorite project you ask?
I caught Davis bending down on his chair writing a ‘secret’ card, which I assumed was for his Daddy. Little did I know it was really for me! Oh be still my heart:
BabbaCo’s Attention to Detail
BabbaCo’s attention to detail continued to surprise me as my children and I rummaged through our activity box. Initially, the presentation of the box itself was so inviting! It was obvious that this box was put together by a person genuinely interested in creating a fun experience for little ones.
The box also included a step-by-step card of the box’s contents, to make sure you didn’t miss any aspect of the activities included.
But my favorite detail? The stamped envelopes included in the card-making project. I thought that was a smart detail to include as well as timely since we were out of stamps! As a detail-oriented person, I appreciate it when something is so well thought-out and then implemented.

Once I have all the materials gathered & prepared, crafting is easy. It’s the setting up that can be difficult.
Kathy
What a neat God project to spend time investing in my grandboys.
Marie
We love doing crafts! But, I have to go online to look for ideas (I don’t have the creative mind). TY for the opportunity 🙂
Megan
Awesome! I have the hardest time putting together crafts for the kids. To have them all in a box, ready to go, would be great!

This looks like something my child and I could enjoy doing together. I always seem have a problem with making sure all our supplies are together when it’s time to do a project and this would be an awesome prize to win.

I want one!

I often find that I can’t give everyone attention at the same time and I have to be okay with the project morphing into something else entirely!
Stevie
I absolutely LOVE crafting with my littles and they love it too! The problem is completing them all as I have a big ol’ list and not enough time! :0)
Abby
It’s easy if everything’s organized and prepared.
Holly
My boys love to do crafts. I however, don’t like pulling together supplies. This sounds great!
Caron
My kids would leap for joy!
Sarah N
It really depends on how complicated the crafts/projects are! If everything is prepped for me, that makes it MUCH easier!
Sara
This is such a neat idea! My daughter would love these!
Sara
I am not very creative/crafty so having every thing prepared would make it easier.
Marianne @ Abundant Life
I must confess that I rarely plan crafts for my kids. We have lots of craft items around the house for them to spontaneaously be crafty but nothing nearly as amazing as this!
Leah
Looks like fun!
Melinda
My children love to do crafts, but a combination small home and busy life make it a rare treat instead of a regular occurance.
Jamie
My nephew gets SO excited when we ask him about doing crafts. They live in Alaska and are stuck inside a lot so crafting is very enjoyable for him! I want him to receive a box!
Lauren Hill
It WAS a lot of fun!! 🙂
