One of the biggest reader requests here at Mama’s Learning Corner is handwriting practice and copywork – specifically CURSIVE!
After many hours of searching, I finally found a set of print and cursive fonts that are just perfect.
I am thrilled!
And I am super excited to share with you and new line of printables – Fact Packs.
I had this brainstorm a few weeks ago, but it’s taken a bit of time to put it in motion. I’ve long been a fan of handwriting practice that involves intentional practice, such as worthy sayings or Bible verses or facts to know.
It is valuable for my children to spend their time learning worthy sayings and nuggets of information while practicing their handwriting.
The idea of Fact Packs was born while helping my 3rd grader with her cursive one morning.
This first set of Fact Packs focuses on basic facts that all elementary students should commit to memory.
Future Fact Packs will focus on American History, the solar system, states and capitals, seasons and holidays, and more!
Basics Fact Pack in Print and Cursive
These copywork packets are set up with 2 different levels in both print and cursive.
→ In Level 1, words and phrases are modeled on primary lines with space immediately below for the student to practice. Includes 26 pages.
→ In Level 2, words and sentences are modeled at the top of the page in a smaller font, and space is provided at the bottom for students to practice. Includes 25 pages.
I’ve included a variety of topics:
- Continents
- Oceans – 5 ocean basins
- Time Zones – 6 times zones in the US
- Seasons of the Year
- Days of the Week
- Months of the Year
- Days in a Year (includes Leap Year)
- Seconds, Minutes, Days, and Weeks
- Days, Weeks, and Years
- Cardinal Directions
- Ways to Measure Temperature – Fahrenheit and Celsius
- Hemispheres – Northern & Southern, Eastern & Western
- Equator and Prime Meridian
- The Alphabet – 26 letters in the English alphabet
Are a few of these topics unfamiliar to your students? All the better! Now would be the perfect time to teach them about the equator and hemispheres, or the 6 times zones across the United States.
I’ve also included a short guide in the front of the packets for instructing your children with basic grammar.
Of course you can print as many pages as needed, and practice, practice, practice!
