The Beatitudes – Matthew 5 – are some of my favorite verses to read in the New Testament. I read them often!
In fact, I’m looking for a Bible Study that my kiddos I can do to really learn those verses and what Jesus was saying to us as believers.
In the meantime, my kiddos are using The Beatitudes as their copywork for this week.
Bible Copywork: The Beatitudes
The Beatitudes, located in chapter 5 of Matthew, are 8 statements of blessedness spoken by Jesus at the beginning of his Sermon on the Mount.
My 10-year-old will write 3-4 of these verses each day in cursive. My 8-year-old will write 2 verses each day.
Lastly, my 6 year old will work on just a few of the shorter verses. She’ll only copy 2-3 at the most.
In this printable packet of copywork, you’ll find two different versions: NIV and KJV.
You’ll also find elementary and plain lines, depending upon your child’s ability.
There is a guide in the front of the packet, advising which pages to print depending on version and style.

I love your copy work selections! I have one request: my children learn cursive in second grade. Would adding cursive be possible?
Lauren Hill
You know, I considered adding cursive since my kiddos learn cursive in 3rd grade, but I wasn’t sure if my readers would like that.
I’ll try to get it added in the next week or so!
Thank you for stopping by today! 🙂

Thank you Lauren! I’ve been a “fan”/subscriber for awhile now and always love your work. You are a blessing to many 🙂
Joyfully, Theresa

PS I’d love a cursive version as well!
Lauren Hill
Thank you for your kind words, Theresa! I appreciate that! 🙂
Yes, I’ll start to add in cursive to my copywork worksheets as well!
