Through the years here at Mama’s Learning Corner, I’ve added several Alphabet worksheets and activities. That’s a good thing, because my littlest boy is working on learning his letters!
While my almost 3 year old isn’t interested in much writing or coloring (he would much rather bang on a tree with a stick), he is very interested in learning letters and reading.
We look through several of our Memoria Press Phonics Cards each day, and read through several books as part of his “school” time.
When the time comes, he will move on to working on the many different alphabet worksheets and activities here at Mama’s. This Color and Write Letter Booklet will be on his to-do list in the years to come!

Color and Write Letter Booklet
My children have all enjoyed mini booklets through the years. I’m not sure whether it’s the small size of the pages, or just the change of pace from the norm that they have enjoyed.
This Color and Write Letter Booklet is in that same familiar mini book style.
Each page in this letter booklet focuses on a beginning letter sound, including a place to practice writing the letter. You’ll see that this is a great booklet for left-handed students since they can choose to write their letter before or after the example letter.
I also included two pictures for your children to color, each of which begin with the page’s focus letter.
The vowels include one picture that makes the short vowel sound, and one picture that makes the long vowel sound.
After writing practice, encourage your children to say the pictures aloud and really emphasize the beginning sound.
Look around the room and name other objects or people that have the same beginning sound as the focus page.
You could even make a list of those brainstormed items on the board, or race to see who can name the most!
These pages would go perfect with a Letter of the Week curriculum, or simply use them as spiral review.
When the pages are completed, simply staple the booklet along the edge’s gray lines.
The last page includes all 26 letters of the alphabet. You can use this page in a variety of ways:
- Sing or say the alphabet song slowly, pointing to each letter along the way.
- Say a word aloud (example: blueberries). Have your child point to the letter that makes the beginning sound.
- Introduce your child to the vowels and have him point to each one as you say it aloud.
- Have your child “spell” his name as he points to each letter.
