Color by Letter Alphabet Worksheets

Because I have a 3 1/2 year old boy that’s very interested in learning his letters, I will be publishing several Learning the Alphabet packets over the next few weeks and months.  Get ready, because I have only a million ideas to act upon.

Time to implement those ideas is another issue. 😉

As of this writing, Mama’s Learning Corner is over 9 years old, and many of you have been with me through my girls moving through the Preschool years.  As most of you know, I don’t consistently do a formal Preschool curriculum in the pre-Kindergarten years.  I love them and fully support them if they’re age-appropriate, but I’ve never been good at implementing them to the degree that they’re written.

So I mostly do my own thing in Preschool, and so far, it’s worked out well.

The backbone of my Preschool plans always focus on lots of reading aloud and actively discussing what we’re reading – talking about the pictures in the book, asking why the character did ____, etc.

Reading coupled with intentional learning activities has been plenty for my children.  Add in copious amounts of time outside, and you have a recipe for beautiful and memorable Preschool years.

Color By Letter Alphabet Worksheets

My youngest boy, now 3 1/2, has shown that he’s not much for sitting still in a chair and holding a pencil.  This is the polar opposite of my girls!  As a result, my preschool plans for him look different for him, compared to my older children.  He needs plenty of time to run and play hard outside, so I make sure that is a priority each morning.

On the mornings that we do make it to more formal learning, this is one of the letter worksheets that will be in our rotation.

Each page in this packet focuses on one capital letter of the alphabet.

The color by code is intentionally simple for the Preschool and Early Kindergarten age range.

Each worksheet has your child color all of the capital letters one color, and all of the lowercase letters a different color.

As you can see, each page only focuses on one letter of the alphabet, and the packet contains 26 total pages.

The color by letter worksheet pages are named ‘Big A, Little A’ as a result of this book, since it’s such a beloved favorite of all of my children as well.

My youngest and I read it often, so he recognizes the rhyming part of the book, which we always recite together!
