Several years ago in 2014 (!), I had a couple of kiddos that were obsessed with pattern blocks, so I created a set of pattern block cards. They loved them and we used them through several children.
For 4+ years, those pattern block cards have been one of my most popular downloads here at Mama’s Learning Corner. As a result, readers have asked over and over for more sets.
FINALLY! Today is the day!
Fall Pattern Block Cards
When I created this set of Fall Pattern Block Cards, I had the 1st-4th grade crowd in mind. Of course kiddos that are older or younger would enjoy them as well.
There are 2 levels included in this set.
Level 1:
The outline of each individual block shape is given. After placing blocks in the correct spaces, children write the number of blocks used in the table.
You can put these sheets in a page protector and use a dry erase marker so they can be built over and over!
Level 2:
Only the outline of the image is given in this set. The number of each block is provided, and students must figure out the correct placement inside the shape.
This download includes 10 mats for Level 1 and 10 mats for Level 2, for a total of 20.
All Access Pass members can download this entire 20-page packet in the All Access Pass area.
After you log in, choose the Fall and Winter page and scroll down until you see this particular worksheet packet. Then just click and your download will start immediately.
Ideas for using Fall Pattern Block Mats
I love reading about ideas for using different printables in my own home, so here are a few ideas to get you started with these pattern block mats.
If you’re using these in a classroom setting:
— Use them in a fall-themed center
— Great for early finishers
— Easy prep for a morning tub
— Send a couple home in a gallon ziploc bag with the appropriate blocks as a fun take-home activity!
If you’re using these at home:
— Set up for a younger student while you’re working with an older sibling
— Place in a workbox
— Set up as an at-home “center” in the corner of the school room (my girls always loved this!)
— Set up at the kitchen table while you’re working on dinner
What other ways would you use these in your home or classroom? Please share in the comments!
