Over the years, we’ve acquired several books that focus on the Easter season and they have become our favorites!
In my experience, I’ve had difficulty finding books about Easter and The Resurrection that are theologically sound. But don’t be dismayed, because there are several out there!

Favorite Books About Jesus and The Resurrection
Even though these books focus on the week leading up to Christ’s death and His resurrection, we keep them out year-round. Jesus dying on the cross is a frequent topic at our house, so it makes no sense to me to put these books away for a one-time-a-year read. 🙂

The Week That Led to Easter by Joanne Larrison
My kiddos enjoy this book which is part of the ARCH series – a neat Biblical series for kids on a multitude of Bible topics and accounts
The Easter Story by Patricia Pingry
This is a favorite! The pictures are beautiful and the text is just right for younger learners without being babyish.
I appreciate the way this book explains Jesus’ death as thee means for our salvation.
The Story of Jesus by Jane Werner Watson
This is also a favorite!
This book has beautiful illustrations and is a lovely look at Jesus’ life while on earth.
The Berenstain Bears and the Easter Story by Jan & Mike Berenstain
While this is not my go-to book for Easter, my children really like it!
This book is a great reminder to my kiddos that Easter is not about eggs and candy.
The Big Picture Story Bible by David Helm
This is one of my favorite Children’s Bibles! The entire Bible really does read like a story of God preparing the world for Jesus, His life here on earth, and life after His resurrection.
This book is perfect to ready any time, but especially during the Easter season.
It’s a staple in our home!
