Happy Independence Day, my American friends!
We are so blessed to live in a country where we can worship the Creator as we choose, educate our children as we see fit, and lay our heads on our pillows at night with the comfort of safety.
It’s interesting how those things become more and more important with each passing year. Our priorities certainly shift as we grow older. 🙂
I don’t dare take any of those things for granted.
If you are a military family, past or present, please know how grateful I am for your family’s sacrifice. The things you give up on a daily basis are not unappreciated or unnoticed.
And please know that our family prays for yours. xoxo
Happy Independence Day, Friends!
Oh! thus be it ever, when freemen shall stand
Between their loved home and the war’s desolation!
Blest with victory and peace, may the heav’n rescued land
Praise the Power that hath made and preserved us a nation.
Then conquer we must, when our cause it is just,
And this be our motto: “In God is our trust.”
And the star-spangled banner in triumph shall wave
O’er the land of the free and the home of the brave!
– Last stanza of “The Star-Spangled Banner”
