Kindergarten – First Grade Calendar Notebooks for 2018-2019 are here!
Your kindergarten or first grade students are going to enjoy working their way through the Calendar Notebook this year! It’s filled with daily activities – weather, graphing, days of the week, months of the year, and more!
♥ If you have a preschooler in your homeschool, make sure you stop by and download the Preschool Calendar Notebook.
The Preschool Calendar Notebook is perfect for a preschooler or early Kindergartner, but this notebook is a better fit if you need something a little more advanced.
What is included in the Kindergarten-First Grade Calendar Notebook?
As usual, the Kindergarten-First Grade Calendar Notebook has undergone its yearly face lift! You’ll find different fonts, different pictures, and a few added pages.
Even if your child used this notebook last year, this year’s will seem new since the pages are slightly different. The concepts are very similar, however.
This notebook contains several pages to complete each day. Note that a few of the pages are to be placed in page protectors and completed each day with a dry erase marker.
Other pages are to be used each day with a pencil.
WHAT’S NEW FOR 2018-2019:
→ Cover Page: New boy and girl images to choose from!
→ New option for Christian holidays: Choose from a Christian-themed monthly calendar for December 2018 and April 2019! (Christmas and Easter)
→ Many new images, fonts, and borders throughout for an updated feel!
Cover Pages
Choose from a boy or girl cover page to slide in the clear insert in the front of your notebook.
If your notebook doesn’t have the clear insert, just place in a page protector as the front sheet.
Monthly Calendars
Monthly calendars for July 2018 – June 2019 are included. Place these in a page protector and have your child write in the dates using a dry erase marker.
The pictures that you see in some of the calendar squares are fillers. The first of the month starts after the picture. For the months where the first in on Sunday, there are no pictures included.
“What is today?” Page
This page contains several activities. At the top of the page, your child circles the current day and the name of tomorrow.
Next, she writes the date in numbers (such as 9-3-2018) and then the date in words and numbers (September 3, 2018 or Sept. 3, 2018).
Then she determines the season.
Lastly, she practices ordinal numbers when she writes how many days she’s been in school thus far. (1st day, 30th day, etc) I also added a new section to practice odd/even numbers.
“Today I Feel…” Page
This new feelings/emotions page is a neat addition to the Kindergarten-First Grade Calendar Notebook. It provides so many opportunities to talk about how a child is feeling each day.
Your child simply determines which face best describes their attitude and they circle with a dry erase marker.
“How many days have we been in school?” Page
This page is used to record how many days your child has been in school each month. Your child records each day of school in the month using tally marks. She then adds them up at the end of the month and writes the total in the box.
“What time is it?” Page
On this page, your child practices telling time. Your child determines the current time and records it on the analog clock.
She then writes the time on the digital clock at the bottom of the page.
“What time?” Page
Determine two different times of day and have your child tell you the correct times and draw the hands on the clock.
For example, you might choose snack time and reading time.
Your child would write snack in the first blank and then draw the appropriate time on the clock.
Then your child would write read in the second sentence and draw the correct hands on the clock.
“This is how I write my name…” Page
On the 1st day of the month, have your child write his name. It’s interesting to see how quickly their handwriting changes throughout the year!
I Can Count Coins! Page
Your child fills in the blanks with the correct value of each coin.
“My Weather Chart for…” Page
On this page, your child records the weather each day. She then uses this data to graph her information on the sheets provided.
A chart is provided for each month of the year, July – June. There is also weather chart that is blank for your child to write in the name of the month.
Daily Weather Bar Graph
At the end of each month, your child will plot the weather information he collected in a bar graph. He will then interpret the information as he answers the questions.
A bar graph page is provided for each month of the year.
How many sunny days? How many rainy days?
Each month, your child will you use the information from her Weather Chart to determine how many sunny days or rainy days there were each month.
Then compare and contrast each month as she collects her data. Fun!
Days of the Week Page
Practice writing the days of the week and their abbreviations. Circle the correct day of the week.
Months of the Year Page
Practice writing the months of the year and their abbreviations. Circle the correct month of the year.

Thank you so much! Just want you to know I prayed for you this morning, as your hard work is most truly a minstry and a service to so many of us ‘fairly new’ homeschooling moms trying to maneuver the waters of learning ourselves…

Oh Stephanie. That means the world to me! I didn’t see this comment before my site went down for 24+ hours…so I’m just catching up. Know that I am so appreciative!!

cynthia beard
I just came across your website and love it, Thank you for sharing your free pintables with other homeschoolers. I was wondering if you are doing a calendar notebook for your third grader as I also have a third grader.
Lauren Hill
I’m considering creating one for the 2nd-3rd grade crowd! It will be posted in the next couple of weeks if I’m able to squeeze it in. 🙂
Heather Giezen
I would love to see the 2nd-3rd grade one, as I have an almost 3rd grader who still struggles with the days of the week much of the time. Thanks for the awesome pages for preschool & kinder. I have a 3 year old that I will be starting with this year and I have never done preschool before, as my first 3 have all gone to a friend of mine to “do” preschool. Thank you so much!
Lauren Hill
Hi Heather! I’m so sorry, but I don’t think I’m going to have time to publish a 2nd & 3rd grade version this year. 🙁
Melissa
These are so great! I’m having trouble printing them out and getting the titles to show though. Any Ideas? For example, on the “what is today” page, the days of the week aren’t printing, just colored lines where they should be, and on the “this is how I write my name page” none of the months show up. It’s only printing black rectangles of various shapes and sizes. I’ve tried a few things, checking for an Adobe update, but nothing is working. I’m just planning on writing in what won’t print since I’ve printed so many pages, but wondered if there is a trick if I need to print any of the pages again for my younger daughter. :o)
Lauren Hill
Melissa, if you’re using the latest version of Adobe, I’m not really sure how else to trouble shoot. I’m sorry. 🙁
Melissa
I was pretty sure it was my Adobe. I’ll let you know if I figure it out. Thank you! 🙂
Jennifer
I realize it has been a few days since Melissa posted but if she checks back…It is just thought…what she described has happened to me in the past and it was often my printer settings and ink levels. I would have it set for color printing only or greyscale and then certain shades wouldn’t print…..you might check that.
Missy Homemaker
Thank you so very much for this download. My kindergartner will love it. (I found you though Free Homeschool Deals.)
Lauren Hill
Yay! Glad you can use it, Missy!!
Pamela
Hello, I love this stuff!! Thank you so much. I do have a problem, however, with printing pages 34 -46. I don’t know why .

Erin
Hello – I was looking forward to your 2014-2015 version of this. Will it be available soon? Thank you for sharing your talents!
Lauren Hill
Hi Erin! I’m halfway through the Preschool version, so I’ll hopefully have it done and posted this weekend. Then I’ll move on to the Kindergarten/1st Calendar.
I’m slowly working on them…there just aren’t enough hours in my day. 😉
Hopefully soon! 🙂
Tracy
When will your calendar notebook be updated for 2014-15? Would love to use some of these for our notebook!
Thank you!
Lauren Hill
Hopefully by Friday night (6/27/14). 🙂
Nicole
Thanks for the update. My son enjoyed the preschool calendar last year, so I’m grateful that we can do the kindergarten version. I plan on taking some elements from both preschool and kinder calendars to make one that’s just right. The hope is that the preschool stuff will transition out to just kinder, but we’ll get there.
Celeste
Another beautiful packet! Thank you so much for what you do…it is truly a blessing. Does there happen to be a second grade version of this? 🙂
Lauren Hill
There’s not, Celeste. 🙁 I’m sorry!
Denise
This is great, and I would love to use them for my son. One question – when I download the document, several words appear as colored blurred bars, such as the days of the week on the “What is today” page. Is anyone else having this problem or is it something wrong on my end? Thanks!
Lauren Hill
Hi Denise, Make sure you’re using the latest version of Adobe to open the pdf. This problem happens frequently when 1) readers are trying to open the pdf on the default program that Apple uses and 2) when readers are using an older version of Adobe.
Try the newest version and see if that helps. 🙂
Nicole
Thank you! We used these last year and my kids loved them!
Lauren Hill
I’m so glad they loved them, Nicole! Thanks for letting me know. 🙂

Thank you very much-this is exactly what I was looking for!
Lauren Hill
Oh I’m so glad!! Y’all enjoy!
Pam Kosinski
We’ve used your calendar notebook for the last 2 years. It’s great!! My almost 2nd grader is now proficient at reading bar graphs and confident about making them. Our family enjoys these concise meteorological reports. We often look back and find cold snaps or warm spells over the past year or so and compare to present conditions. Thanks again for making this resource available. I highly recommend it. Happy Birthday, Lauren! Blessings to you.
Lauren Hill
Pam – What a very thoughtful comment! I am thrilled beyond words that you’ve had such a great time using it with your young one!
Thank you and thank you!

Cynthia G.
Just came across your page today and I am liking what I see! I’m a little bummed out that I missed the Notebook free download. Will wait for my husband’s pay day and definitely come back to get this and the Pre-k one as I have a 3 yr old who’s birthday isn’t until October so she will be missing school this upcoming year. I plan on doing a bit of home schooling this year until she starts school so that she won’t stay behind.
Lauren Hill
Cynthia, I’m sorry you missed the freebies, BUT you can use the coupon code HAPPYDAY for 50% off through tonight at midnight! (May 22, 2015)
Hope that helps a bit! Thank you for stopping by today! 🙂
Angela

Lauren Hill
Angela, is this issue resolved? If not, please email me at mama (at) mamaslearningcorner (dot) com and I’ll get you a fresh set asap. Please include your paypal address you used to purchase the packet when you email me.
Thank you!! 🙂
lynn
I am afraid I missed the free download for Kindergarten First Grade Calender Notebook and also theCalender Notebook Preschool . Would really appreciate if you could send me the link again.
Thanks.
Lauren Hill
Lynn, I’m so sorry, but the free offerings of these notebooks are now completed. 🙂
Rebecca Rickerd
I just bought and printed the notebook. I am, however, disappointed that from the days of the week (page 13) till the end (page 52) the items are much smaller than last year, not nearly taking up the whole page. I am afraid it will be hard for my 5 year old to write and do the activities, and it is not nearly as attractive as last year. Is there a better way to do this? Why is it so much smaller?
Lauren Hill
Rebecca, did you open and print the document using Adobe Acrobat (the free version)?
If not, that’s probably the source of the problem.
Can you send me a screen shot via email? mama (at) mamaslearningcorner (dot) com
The pages which you describe DO take up the whole page and are not smaller than last year. So my guess is it’s a printing issue somehow. I’m happy to help you troubleshoot, as I want you to be satisfied and your 5yo to enjoy the pages. 🙂
Rebecca Rickerd
Yes, thanks so much! That was my problem. I appreciate your prompt help! And thank you for the great homeschool materials!
Lauren Hill
Oh EXCELLENT! I love it when there’s an easy fix. 🙂
So glad it worked out. Of course, let me know if there are any other issues! 🙂
Thank you for your purchase and being a reader here at Mama’s! xo
Marissa Torres
This is probably as obvious as I think it is, but I will ask anyway. Is the intention that the child will fill out a new What is Today/Tomorrow, etc page each day? Same with the time pages?
Thank you!
Lauren Hill
Marissa, I put those first few pages in page protectors and my daughters complete them each day with a dry erase marker. They fill out the page, we talk about it, and then she erases so she can fill it out the next day. Yes, same with time pages, too.
You can definitely print a new page for each day, but I’m trying to save on ink/paper by doing page protectors. It’s worked beautifully for us the past few years using this method! 🙂
Rhonda
Quick correction – page 16 of the Pre-K calendar notebook has a glitch – the March calendar does not appear correctly.
Lauren Hill
Rhonda, make sure you’re using the latest version of Adobe Acrobat. That’s the only program (pdf reader) that will ensure the pdf prints correctly, including all of the images. 🙂
Erin
Hi! Just wondering if the calendar notebook is no longer free? I don’t see a link to download it to print the pages, only the add to cart button for $5.
Sara
I was searching for the free version of this too and was disappointed not to find it. I liked the old version a bit better because it was colorful and the year was blank on the monthly pages and now it is dated so you can’t reuse the pages.
Lauren Hill
Sara, the pages have always been dated and it’s always been more black and white (than color) to save on printer ink. Maybe you were thinking of another blogger’s calendar packet?
I work hard each year to make this calendar better than the last. And I also work hard to keep it very affordable. There are several free versions of calendars from other sites online, but they’re not as packed as this one. Maybe one of those would suit your needs. 🙂
Heather G.
Love the time and coin pages! I have mixed and matched this packet with the preschool one so that my kinder and first grader can work on the same things. Didn’t think my kindergartener was quite ready to write all the dates himself. I also laminated the colored and shapes pages so they are more sturdy and won’t have to be reprinted every year. I also include a pencil pouch in their notebooks which contain different colored dry erase markers and a pencil so that they have everything they need when they open their notebooks. Thanks for creating and selling these, my kids love them!
Lauren Hill
Heather, I LOVE your ideas! Thank you so much for leaving a comment so other moms could model what you do. It’s so wonderful to see how other homeschool moms do things!
xo,
Lauren
