We’re on the fourth day of nursery rhymes here at Mama’s! And today’s rhyme is an oldie but goodie: Little Miss Muffet!
My little girls (almost 5 and 6 1/2) have done bits and pieces of this nursery rhyme packet as I’ve put it together, but we’ve yet to have a complete Little Miss Muffet week.
Next week is Hey Diddle, Diddle, so I’m making sure that Little Miss Muffet is on the docket after that!
Little Miss Muffet Nursery Rhyme
Like most nursery rhymes, Little Miss Muffet is packed with neat teaching opportunities!
Here are some ideas to get your wheels turning:
♥ Take a few moments to describe what curds and whey are like.
♥ Make sure your kiddos can describe a tuffet.
♥ Talk about different emotions – anger, sorrow, joy, etc. Brainstorm how Miss Muffet felt when that spider sat down beside her. She was probably surprised!
– Have all of your kiddos make their best ‘surprised’ face.
– Then have all of them make their best ‘frightened’ face!
– My children absolutely love activities like this!
This packet was also included in the original Nursery Rhymes bundle that I published last year. Note that this packet has been completely revised and expanded!
