I try to make it a priority for my children to memorize Scripture on a regular basis. Sometimes we get on a really good roll with memorizing Scripture, and other times it falls by the wayside.
Like anything else, if I don’t have a plan my best ideas tend to fall apart. So in an attempt to be more intentional about memorizing Scripture, I created this Scripture Memorization Log to use over the next couple of months.
The dates start on the Monday of each week and are listed through December 31, 2012. I started the week on a Monday since that is when our homeschool week starts. As I plan our Bible Study for each school week, I’ll fill in the Scripture that we’ll memorize as well. I love that we’ll have a set plan in place and there won’t be any guessing as to what we’ll memorize. When I leave room for guessing, things tend to fall apart here at the Hill House.
I also like the fact that we’ll have a record of all of the Scripture that we’ve learned this year. I can’t wait to go back and look at it when the end of December rolls around.
If I was really ambitious, I would go ahead and plan every week’s Scripture from now through the end of the year. But I don’t quite have my act together to that degree!
Between this Scripture Memorization Log and our Scripture Jar Printables, I think we have a good plan in place.
Enjoy using this Scripture Memorization Log with your own family! I’d love to hear your ideas for how you can use it in your own home.
