We had the privilege of spending several nights in the North Carolina Mountains with my in-laws this past week. While we literally have to move most of the contents of our home to any vacation spot, spending time with family in such a beautiful part of the country is worth it! We are enormously blessed that we all truly enjoy being around one another. I don’t dare take that for granted.
Nana brought a couple of treats for my kiddos to enjoy during our stay. And one of those was a small 9×11 white board with Dry-Erase Crayons.
Dry Erase Crayons?
Oh yes. And I love them. They are my new favorite school supply.
We have an enormous 8 foot white board in our school room, which makes me squeal with delight I love it so. It gets tons of use every day: using letter tiles with our All About Spelling, practicing the ‘Sad Letter o’ (IEW!), solving Magic Squares or simply displaying the day’s artwork with magnets.
My 2 year old? She adores the white board…and the markers that go with it. 😉
But that white board will occupy her for 20 or even 30 minutes. Why, that’s a whole math or spelling lesson! And for a busy Mama of 4 little people, I will gladly let her write on the board that long. Even if markers are involved.
Now I know a thing or two about laundry. But Dry Erase markers definitely stretch my stain removal skillz. So imagine my sheer delight when I read that Dry Erase crayons are washable! I love them.
They do leave a bit of a stain behind and they are a little hard to remove (you’ll need some elbow grease). After creating her masterpieces all over the board, we simply spray it down with Expo White Board Cleaner and the surface of the board is as good as new.
And yes, we only use Expo board cleaner. Our family tried different (read: cheaper) brands and in this case, we got what we paid for. I put it in a spray bottle, spray down the board, hand out paper towels and the kids wipe away. Super easy.
So if you have any extra splurge money in your Back to School budget, spend $4 on the Dry Erase Crayons. Your little ones will love them!
