I’ve mentioned several times how much our family has enjoyed using the Names of Jesus Advent Chain during our Bible time in the mornings.
I can hardly believe how many Names of Jesus my children (and I!) have memorized by studying our Name each day and then reviewing those from previous days.
Because I’m always on the lookout for ways we incorporate one subject with another, I created a Names of Jesus copywork printable.
This is a fun way for my kiddos to practice their handwriting during the rest of December!
Note: This post and packet were originally created in 2013. I am updating the packet with fresh new fonts and layouts and a BRAND NEW print and cursive sentence packet. Please re-download and use it again!

Names of Jesus Copywork in 3 different styles
This copywork includes 3 different writing styles of learning and copying the Names of Jesus.
The first set includes the Name of Jesus, the Bible verse, and the verse reference. Children write the Name of Jesus and the Bible reference.
The second set includes the Name of Jesus and the Bible verse where the name is referenced IN PRINT. Children use the verse at the top of the page for reference as they copy.
The third set includes the Name of Jesus and the Bible verse where the name is referenced IN CURSIVE. Again, children use the verse at the top of the page for reference as they copy.
While Christmas is a wonderful time to use this copywork set, it can certainly by used throughout the year!
Have your child work on one name and Scripture reference each day, or work on several a day – this is a very versatile handwriting activity!
To add more to this activity, memorize the Names of Jesus as you go over the verses each day. It’s even better if you and your children choose to memorize some of the entire Bible verses!
If you are using this study during the Christmas Season, it is a worthy endeavor to memorize Isaiah 9:6. Your children will be so thrilled when they can recite four Names of Jesus just by memorizing one verse! My children have always enjoyed that type of activity.
