It’s all about nature today at Mama’s Learning Corner! There are two sets of downloads, so make sure to scroll all the way to the bottom of the post to download both sets.
Set 1: My Nature Journal
After we’ve spent time exploring outside, my son uses these printables to record what he has observed. He draws a picture of his favorite discovery and then writes 1-2 sentences describing his findings on the given lines.
If your child does not yet write in sentences, you can help him spell one or two words describing his drawn picture.
If your child doesn’t write much at all yet, he can dictate a sentence to you and observe you writing the letters correctly.
This is an activity my 6-year-old looks forward to every week! Each week we add to his Journal and it creates a lovely record of his interesting nature finds! It’s so neat to look back over what was discovered in previous months.
There are two pages in this Nature Printable Set. The first page is ‘My Nature Journal’ in Portrait and the second is the same page in Landscape.

Set 2: What Did You See?
This next set of printables can be used with non-readers as well as readers. My almost 3-year-old can even use these with lots of help from mom.
Simply spend time exploring nature outside with your child. Make a few new nature discoveries at the park or in your own backyard.
After returning inside, sit down with your child and talk about what you observed. Go over each object on the worksheet with your little one. If you observed the object, place a circle around it. If you did not, put an ‘x’ on it.
There are four pages in this Nature Printable Set. Each page contains different items, so you can use a new, fresh page every week for a whole month! Note that one page is for observing nature on a wintry, snowy day. The other pages are appropriate for any season.
