My oldest daughter turned 6 a few weekends ago (sniff sniff!) and we had the best birthday celebration! She’s just a great little girl and I’m so privileged to be her mama.
Her birthday present from her daddy and me: Earrings! Oh so grown up! She hardly even flinched when she got them and she’s taken exceptional care of them. I’m so proud of her!
But with lots of wonderful birthday presents comes a handful of thank you notes that need to be written!
Birthday Thank You Notes
Instead of our usual writing curriculum this week, she has diligently worked on her thank you notes. We wrote a list on the whiteboard of all of the people who needed a note and then just crossed them off as she wrote them.
Not only is it a great way to practice handwriting, but it’s also a neat way for her to learn how to address an envelope. Most importantly, writing thank you notes helps instill a sense of gratitude.
