Many years ago when my four big kids were all little, we studied pumpkins each year. It never grew old to us!
We chose the best pumpkins from the patch, studied the pumpkin life cycle, germinated pumpkin seeds in a cup, and read a plethora of pumpkin books.
I am so blessed that I am now able to do all of those things each year with my youngest boy, who is currently in the 1st grade. We have a big time together!
Next week, we’ll be studying pumpkins again together so I’m busy trying to get our worksheets and pumpkin projects together.
And we will certainly be using this improved and freshened up Pumpkin Life Cycle booklet!
Note: This Pumpkin Life Cycle Packet was originally published waaaay back in 2014. I’d say it was time for a complete overhaul! Please re-download it and use it again!

Pumpkin Life Cycle Booklet
This Pumpkin Life cycle Booklet is very similar to the Apple Life Cycle Booklet published here at Mama’s Learning Corner. You will recognize the same format!
My 1st grader will cut out and staple the book with just a bit of help from me. I expect that he will be able to order the pages correctly.
There are two options for the Life Cycle Booklet. Because my son isn’t writing sentences quite yet, we will use the pre-printed Life Cycle Prompts to complete his booklet.
He is not reading well enough yet to read the pre-printed prompts independently, but I will have him read as much on the prompt as he is able.
We will complete the book on Monday and read the book each of the other days in the week to increase fluency.
Your children can use the pre-printed booklet, the pre-printed reading prompts and match them to the correct page, or they can write vocabulary words or sentences on each stage describing each Life Cycle stage.
It’s up to you! Choose the method that is best for your learning situation.
Pumpkin Vocabulary Worksheets
Also included in this printable set is a Pumpkin Life Cycle Vocabulary page.
Using the words at the bottom, your child can write in the correct vocabulary word using the word bank.
Practice pumpkin vocabulary in a different way with the Label the Parts of the Pumpkin worksheet.
Simply cut out the vocabulary words at the bottom of the page and glue them to label the picture correctly.
