Over the past week, my 5 year old (almost 6!) has worked through every single Read It! Draw It! page in the Kindergarten CVC Phonics Packet.
She begged me to make more – which of course I did – and still wanted more drawing prompts.
So this weekend, I made her a whole packet of fall-themed read and draw pages. I can’t wait to show her the booklet tomorrow! I have no doubt she will love it.
Read and Draw: FALL!
This set of Read and Draw prompts all have a fun fall theme.
Each half-page contains a small picture to help your child start the scene. He then fills in the rest of the scene using the writing prompts at the bottom of the page.
The writing prompts are only there as a loose guide – your child should let his imagination run wild with ideas!
In this 16 half-page writing and drawing set, you’ll find the following picture prompts:
— Read and Draw: FALL! cover page
— Apple with seeds
— Boy with rake
— Sunflower with petals and stem
— Mushroom in the grass
— Basket full of apples
— Homemade soup with milk
— Brown owl in the backyard
— Pumpkin on the porch
— A hedgehog in the forest
— Raking leaves in a pile
— A scarecrow at the corn maze
— An acorn found in the pumpkin patch
— New boots for fall
— A fox hunting for prey in the fall forest
— Examining a red maple leaf with a magnifying glass
The writing prompts contain 2-3 sentences, however, you can use this Read and Draw: FALL! booklet with a variety of ages.
→ If you have pre-readers, read the prompt to them on each page. While it doesn’t make this an independent activity, it does give them the opportunity to practice oral directions.
→ If you have beginning or independent readers, simply provide reinforcement and help as needed.
