My almost 4-year-old is very into shapes right now. Actually, anything that involves cutting and shapes. I promised her a little shapes book of her own, and I thought I’d share it with all of you too. I think it turned out really cute! It’s a surprise for her school time tomorrow, so we’ll see if she likes it!
My Color the Shapes Book
All of my daughters love little items (pencils, notepads, anything), and books are no exception. So I made this shapes book smaller than the usual 8 1/2 x 11 size.
Each page has the same prompt at the top, telling the shape they should find and the color they should use to color it.
Listed in this little shapes book are:
– circles
– squares
– triangles
– crescents
– rectangles
– ovals
Each shape is assigned a different color.
How to Assemble the Color the Shapes Book
Assembly of this little book is easy. First print the cover page on a piece of cardstock if you have one. Cut the page along the dotted lines. Make sure you use the lower half of the page as a back cover for the book. It’s intentionally blank.
Next, print the other pages on regular plain paper. Cut the pages along the dotted lines.
Finally, stack the pages together to form a book. Attach with staples or punch holes and use yarn or pretty ribbon.
