Short O and Long O Worksheets – CVC and CVCe

My 6 year old and I are still plugging along with learning to read during the summer, albeit at a slower pace. We all like the more relaxed days that summer brings!

He is still practicing quite a bit with CVC and CVCe words, so it is time to break out a few new activities related to the short o and long o sounds.

Short O and Long O Vowel Sounds

In this worksheet packet, you will find only Short Vowel O CVC words and Long Vowel O CVCe words. Words like ‘mom’ or ‘poke’.

I will publish future worksheet packets where we study the other ways to make the Long O sound such as the vowel team oe or vowel team ow.

This packet is helpful for beginning readers that are trying to grasp the sound of Long O versus Short O.
