My beginning reader is going to love these Short Vowel Worksheets! While she still doesn’t do a lot of actual writing yet, she loves to color and use markers.
She’s exhausted my collection of Follow the Direction worksheets, so it was certainly time for me to create a few new ones for her to enjoy.
Short Vowel Worksheets
This 2-page set of worksheets focuses on short vowel words using the CVC pattern.
There is a specific direction for each short vowel sound.
When I use these worksheets with my daughter, we will focus on one particular short vowel sound at the time.
For example, we’ll start with the short a sound. She will read each word in the row and determine if it has the short a sound. If it does, she’ll mark it according to the directions. If the word does not have the short a sound, she’ll move on to the next word.
After she correctly identifies all of the short a words, we’ll move on to the short e words, and so on.
♥ Note that this worksheet set is for personal and classroom use. Enjoy!
