Summer Pattern Block Mats

Pattern Blocks have always been a favorite at our house, so even though my kiddos are a bit older, I had some lovely volunteers to help me proof my new pattern block mats. ❤

This set of summer themed pattern blocks mat are perfect to tuck away for rainy days or when it’s just too hot to go outside.

Spring Pattern Block Mats

Each of the seasonal pattern block sets are created with 1st-4th graders in mind.  Of course kiddos that are older or younger would enjoy them as well.

There are 2 levels included in this packet.

Level 1:

The outline of each individual block shape is given. After placing blocks in the correct spaces, children write the number of blocks used in the table.

You can put these sheets in a page protector and use a dry erase marker so they can be built over and over again.

Level 2:

Only the outline of the image is given in this set. The number of each block is provided, and students must figure out the correct placement inside the shape.

This download includes 10 mats for Level 1 and 10 mats for Level 2, for a total of 20.

Ideas for Using Summer Pattern Block Mats

Sometimes I need a few new, fresh ideas with kids’ learning activities.  Here are some ideas to get your started with these pattern block mats.

If you’re using these in a classroom setting:
— Use them in a summer-themed center
— Great for early finishers
— Easy prep for a morning tub
— Send a couple home in a gallon ziploc bag with the appropriate blocks as a fun take-home activity!

If you’re using these at home:
— Set up for a younger student while you’re working with an older sibling
— Place in a work box
— Set up as an at-home “center” in the corner of the school room (my girls always loved this!)
— Set up at the kitchen table while you’re working on dinner
— Tuck away for the days it’s too hot to go outside
