Oh, Friends. I am beyond thrilled to finally show you the brand new look here at Mama’s!
For many months, my wonderful designer and I have been feverishly working to make Mama’s Learning Corner a better site. And I’m excited to show y’all around!
My number 1 goal was to make it easier to find what you’re looking for, whether it’s worksheets and printables, help for you as a homeschool mom, or books for you and your children to read.
So let’s take a look around!
For those of you who are new to Mama’s, make sure you click on the Start Here button in the navigation bar.
Because I know many of you come to Mama’s for book suggestions, you can also now easily find those in the Books & More Books! section.
Or you can search all that Mama’s has to offer by grade or by subject, just by clicking in the navigation bar.
I’ve also updated the About page where you can read my ’20 Things’ and get to know me a bit better. Just click on the box!
If you like to read a site blog style, where the latest posts are listed first, just click on Blog in the navigation bar. Or you can scroll down and find pictures of my latest posts.
Just click and read!
One of my favorite new sections is Mama’s Favorite Things! I’m frequently asked about my favorite printer, or what my favorite homeschool supplies are. Several of you have asked what type of Bible I use.
I listed all of that and more, so go take a peek! And then tell me what your favorite things are because I love to know that kind of thing. 🙂
Lastly, if you’re looking to purchase anything in Mama’s Shop, just click on Shop in the navigation bar, or you can access it from the home page.
So simple!
Because I am so tickled about this new look, I wanted to celebrate with a giveaway!
Since I write about our favorite books so often here at Mama’s Learning Corner, it only seemed natural to give away some of our favorite books.
So get ready because there will be multiple winners!
Because Usborne books are some of our tried-and-true favorites, I’m giving away a selection of the best!
To enter, simply leave a comment on this post and tell me one of your favorite books that you’ve read with your own children.
Fiction, non-fiction, chapter book, picture book – anything goes!
One winner will be selected for each book prize, using random.org.
You may only enter once. Any duplicate entries will be deleted. Only US residents in the 48 contiguous states are allowed to enter. You’ll have 48 hours to email me with your mailing address before I choose a new winner.

The only book I’ve had a chance to read to my sister is our Bible. I say sister, as both our parents died, leaving me as her caregiver, and I wouldn’t trade it for anything! Especially since my husband and I cannot have children. God knows best! 🙂 My sister has mild retardation, and she has the mentality of a 5-y-o.
BTW, I really like the new site, Lauren!
Be safe and blessed!

Thanks for your beautiful site, Lauren, and all the hard work you do. I have gotten so many resources from you and truly appreciate it. (The kindergarten phonics pack is our favorite!)
When my girls were tiny I loved the Pout Pout Fish because it always ended with tons of kisses! And now we’ve been really enjoying the Little House series. But I also love everything Usborne! I’m having my 5 year old draw a page from I Can Draw People everyday for homework and she loves it.
Thanks again!

How to choose… We just checked out Little Hoot by Amy Krouse Rosenthal which we loved! The storyline is quite funny, especially as a parent, and the details in the illustrations have captured my boys’ attention. I had used her book Little Pea as a grade 1 read aloud when I taught, and it really brought on the giggles.

Thank you for your wonderful site!

I am an elementary special education teacher. We recently read The Rainbow Fish and did a big art project. We used tissue paper to make the ocean scene and then used bubble wrap and paint to stamp fish onto the back drop. Then we made silver fins that each student had to share with another friend, just like Rainbow fish! It was a great activity for the students, working on their fine motor skills and learning to share 🙂 Thank you for all that you do and all that you share!
Misty
Frozen of course!

After 5 years of homeschooling, our current all time favorite is the Viking Quest series by Lois Walfrid Johnson. All ages (10, 8, 6, and 4) were spellbound by the adventures and even Dad didn’t want to miss bedtime story time! The beautiful way the author weaved in trusting God thru difficult and incomprehensible times ministered to this Mama’s soul after suffering great personal loss, while the kids loved the adventure and courage of the characters. The author also uses real landmarks throughout the series, which served as spring boards for impromptu geography lessons and research!
