Friends, I’m in the process of creating several different themed resource packets here at Mama’s Learning Corner. Themed resource packets have links to crafts, informational links (museums, etc), You Tube videos, early reader books, and worksheets and printables (made by me), all centered around a specific them.
Think mini-unit study.
The idea is that all of the resources that you could possibly need for a small unit study are contained in one document. You can easily click to videos, or see which books you’d like to check out from your library, which crafts you think your kiddos would enjoy, and print the worksheets & printables.
All of the resources will be available, you just have to plan which ones will work with your family.
I Need Your Input
This is where I need your help. In the reader survey I conducted last October, an overwhelming amount of you said you’d love a themed packet such as this. I need some follow-up data so I can make them everything you want them to be.
Well, and everything I want them to be too, since I’ll use them in our homeschool as well.
Can you take just a minute to take my survey about these themed resource packets? I’d be so grateful. It should literally only take two minutes or less.
Thank you!
Betty Jo Hendrickson
When we do a unit study on a history topic, we also study any scientific discoveries, inventions, technology,as well as art and music of the time period, not just names and dates. Also, they need to cover multiple grades.

Thanks for the suggestions, Betty Jo! 🙂 They’ll cover the PreK to Second/Third Grade range.

We have only been homeschooling for a year and it is still very much a learning process. I love the themed packets but they always seem aimed at preschool or kindergarten or 4th – 6th grade. My second grader seems to find them too easy or way beyond her. I try to make them fit but that takes the ease out. Don’t know if this is a “real” problem or just my own.
