Thrifty Thursday – December 22, 2022

Hello Friends, and welcome to the very first Thrifty Thursday!

High inflation and the country’s current economic woes cause almost all of us to cut corners, and that includes our homeschool budgets.  Since many of us are now looking for cheaper ways to homeschool, I am starting a new type of post here at Mama’s Learning Corner: Thrifty Thursday.

You can expect to see a list of homeschool freebies, deals, and discounts each week all wrapped up in a nice neat post each Thursday.

Like you, I need to make every dollar stretch!  If you know of a greet freebie, homeschool deal, or discount, please make sure you leave it in the comments below!

Each Thursday, I will also list one of my products at $1.  You won’t need a coupon, but you will have to take advantage of the discount quickly, as it will only be a $1 on Thursday until midnight Eastern!

2.) Paper Plate Melting Snowman

Download the free template pieces to make a Paper Plate Melting Snowman from Kids Craft Room.  This is incredibly cute!!

This is definitely an activity that will need an older sibling or mom’s help in spots, but it is very creative.

3.) Ancient Rome Unit Study Lapbook

If you have never tried a lapbook before, this Ancient Rome Unit Study Lapbook would be a great place to start!

5.) Winter Cutting Practice Worksheets

My 5 year old boy loves to cut more than all of my other children combined.  He would rather hold a pair of scissors than a pencil any day!  I have printed out ALL of the cutting practice pages here at Mama’s Learning Corner, as I prepare his spring semester of Kindergarten.

This free set of Snowflake Cut and Paste Worksheets for Preschool is from the blog Planes and Balloons.  This a fun way to work on fine motor skills for the younger crowd.

7.) Printable Gingerbread House to Color

Oh my girls would have LOVED this printable gingerbread house to color when they were younger!  Actually, they all still do love to color with colored pencils, so I’m printing out three!

8.) Bingo Smash Up! Printable Game

This free Bingo game has lots of fun with portmanteaus (two common words that are combined: spork, wifi, jeggings, etc.)!

What a fun way to build vocabulary and practice with words.  I love this idea to spark creativity during our grammar lessons.
