Hello Friends, and welcome back to Thrifty Thursday!
High inflation and the country’s current economic woes cause almost all of us to cut corners, and that includes our homeschool budgets. Since many of us are now looking for cheaper ways to homeschool, I am starting a new type of post here at Mama’s Learning Corner: Thrifty Thursday.
You can expect to see a list of homeschool freebies, deals, and discounts each week all wrapped up in a nice neat post each Thursday.
Like you, I need to make every dollar stretch! If you know of a greet freebie, homeschool deal, or discount, please make sure you leave it in the comments below!
Each Thursday, I will also list one of my products at $1. You won’t need a coupon, but you will have to take advantage of the discount quickly, as it will only be a $1 on Thursday until midnight Eastern!
Let’s get started with this week’s finds!

1.) Dollar Deal: Life Cycle of a Snowflake Worksheets
This Thursday’s $1 Deal here at Mama’s Learning Corner is Snowflake Life Cycle Worksheets.
They are BY FAR one of the most popular winter packets here at Mama’s, so please download this for cheap (!) and enjoy with your young ones!
It includes 11 printable pages, 2 styles of booklets, vocabulary practice, and blank writing pages
You can click the image to see more details or add it to your cart:
2.) Just Color! Winter Coloring Pages
Download a set of Just Color! Winter Coloring Pages from 1+1+1=1.
My girls loved these types of pages when they were younger. They are colorers (is that a word?!) at heart!
3.) North America Free Printable Map
Geography is one of my favorite subjects to teach and study with my children. You can never have too many maps!
Make sure you download this free printable map of North America from Sallieborrink.com and pair it with your next unit study or read aloud.
4.) One Month FREE Trial – All 50 Courses!
Now is the time to sign up for a free MONTH LONG trial of the Compass Classroom Premium Membership!
You’ll get access to over 50 courses and resources for your kids ages 10 through high school — free for a full month!
Our family is going to trial the Economics for Everybody course and The Story of Great Music course, both of which are worth a 1/2 high school credit.
There are a couple of courses for homeschool moms, too! Homeschool Made Simple is a walk through choosing curriculum, discovering how your child learns best, learning how to teach a Biblical worldview, learning to choose great books for your children to read, and more. This is an incredible resource!
You will also have free access to all of the science programs, history programs, Latin, and more.
5.) Parts of Speech: Noun and Verb Sorting Free Worksheet
I revised this free parts of speech download earlier this year, as it still remains one of the top 3 downloads on this site after TEN YEARS!
In this activity, your child cuts out each word, determines whether it is a noun or verb, and then glues it in the correct column.
Download this free Noun and Verb Worksheet here.
6.) 20 Ways to Calm a Wiggly Child
If you need some fresh ideas, or just some common sense reminders on ways to bring some peace to your day, make sure you browse through 20 Ways to Calm a Wiggly Child.
When we’re in the throes of the homeschool routine, it can be difficult to remember basics sometimes. #3 and #9 are very important in our house.
The only drawback is this needs to be on a pdf so it can be printed and placed in my Homeschool Mom Notebook for frequent review!
7.) Free Printable Drawing Prompts
This set of free printable drawing prompts is spectacular for the young artists in your home. These are easily adaptable for any age!
There are several versions available.
Download these free printable drawing prompts from Picklebums.
8.) Free Winter Reading Bundle
This free winter reading bundle from All About Learning offers 10 reading activities at a variety of levels. I printed the kitten and mitten matching activity that uses short vowels. Super cute!
