In the early years of homeschooling, I figured out that I could use coloring pages as a tool to help my children learn. While my oldest boy hated to color – as does my youngest boy! – my three middle girls loved coloring. They still do, even though they are all much older now!
If your children enjoy coloring, I would encourage you to pair coloring activities with any and all activities that you can. Choose coloring pages that go with the history or science that you are reading aloud. If you’re able to find coloring pages related to the book you’re reading, great! Those were always a treat when I could find those in the early years.

Bible Story of Zacchaeus Coloring Page Packet
Whether you teach Sunday School, work in a Christian school, or need ideas for your homeschool Bible time, these Zacchaeus coloring page set will be a great fit!
Like my other Bible coloring pages, this set features a Bible verse at the top of each page that corresponds to the picture. Note that the Bible verses are recorded in the English Standard Version.
There is also a space to practice writing a word associated with the verse and picture.
Even though my youngest – currently 5 years old – doesn’t like to color, I will use the pictures this week as we study Zacchaeus. Even though he knows the Bible story well, I will use the Bible verses at the top of the page to tell the story to him a few days in a row, and then we will use the same pages for him to tell the story to me the other days.
Being able to retell, or narrate, a story in the correct sequence in a valuable skill. I use familiar Bible stories, nursery rhymes, and well-read stories to practice this type of skill.
Note that this Bible account is from Luke 19:1-10.

When you Have Only Young Children in Homeschool Bible Time
Do you have only young children – Littles – in your homeschool? I consider that to be 2nd or 3rd grade and younger. If so, take a look at this video of how Bible time worked in our homeschool when we had only Littles. I loved the only Littles stage. So fun.
This is obviously an older video since I have a lot of Big Kids now!
