My little boy can’t get enough cut and paste activities. He has loved to cut with scissors since he was old enough to hold them in his little fingers! He will have so much fun with Farm Animals Cut and Paste Booklet!
He just turned 5 in February, and he is at the perfect stage to read and learn all about The Farm. We’re going to a farm in a few weeks, so we will have lots of farm-themed learning between now and then!
He is not yet reading, but activities like this one are helping him get there step by step.

Farm Animals Cut and Paste Booklet
This Farm Animals Cut and Paste Booklet focuses on quite a few skills: cutting, gluing, handwriting, phonics, and reading sight words. I love it when one activity can cover a multitude of learning skills!
There are several ways you can use this little reading booklet in your own homeschool, so I’ll share how we will be using this booklet next week as we start our Farm learning activities.
After printing, I will cut the pages in half along the dotted line to create the half-pages of the booklet.
There are 11 pictures to cut out, so he and I will work on those together.
Next, my son and I will read the pages together to determine the correct animal to paste in the box. He will choose the animal and glue it in the box.
Then I’ll have him assemble the book with the cover page on first, the barn page next, and then the animals in any order he chooses. I’ll help him staple it down the side to create the booklet.
Lastly, I will help him read his new booklet. The sentence is the same on every page on purpose, with the animal word changing of course. We will work on beginning sounds, ending sounds, and I’ll introduce him to vowel teams and consonant teams.
Because he is such a beginning reader, the main focus is on beginning sounds and vowel sounds.
He is not much for handwriting yet, so I will have him write 1-3 words each day that we read his booklet. We should be able to read it 3-4 days next week.
